MDE 15, International Art Meeting in Medellin
Local Histories/Global Practices is the subject of MDE 15, a group exhibition featuring works by 59 artists from 21 countries. The exhibition will remain open through March, 2016. The Medellin International Art Meetings, MDE, are held every four years. Thanks to its two prior editions, in 2007 and 2011, the event has established itself as an international platform that deploys artistic practice to strengthen the social fabric, citizen engagement, and appropriations of public space.
The curatorial team was composed of Nydia Gutiérrez, Chief Curator at the Museo de Antioquia, as Artistic Director; Tony Evanko, a Medellin-based American specialist, as Local Curator; Fernando Escobar as National Curator; and Sharon Lerner (Peru) and Edi Muka (Albania) as International Curators.
