"Think Different (How to hang workers' uniforms)," a site-specific installation, reflects the “repetitive and mundane” work performed by factory workers in China.
The work was made with 375 uniforms in six different colors, hung on a street in Sweden. The uniforms come from Foxconn, a company established in Taiwan with factories in China. Foxconn is considered the world’s largest technology manufacturer.
These empty uniforms represent the anonymity and the mechanization of the workers. Weiwei emphasizes his work is not a critique; instead it should evoke a reflexion of the people of his country and the result of globalization.
